It’s not easy being a fan of BTS. There are so many things to keep track of, from the members’ solo projects and collaborations to their hilarious interactions with each other on social media. And if you’re like me, then you also have your own personal life that isn’t as demanding but still needs attention. It can be hard keeping up with everything that has happened in the world since last year!

But there is one thing I never forget: it’s time for my weekly dose of Bangtan Boys (BTS). This week we’re going to look at “Where Did You Come From,” which is an amazing song off their latest album Love Yourself: Tear. The song begins with a short instrumental intro in which the members rap about their own individual feelings before they reconcile and create a united front. The lyrics are deep and emotional, touching on loneliness as well as societal pressure to be perfect at all times. “I’m just looking for someone I can call my friend,” Jimin raps during the first verse of the song. “Do you feel like this is your last chance?/ You’re trying so hard but it’s never enough.” He laments that society tells him he needs to be perfect—but then reminds himself, “You don’t need anything else if you have love in yourself”.
