When your neighbors are your family, it is always a good thing to have someone to share meals with. For instance, if you work with a team and your boss and his wife are living together, then you will always hear about it. The same goes for living with roommates, etc.
Living in a small town, the concept of “family” is relatively new. The majority of us grew up in cities where the family ties of neighbors and family friends meant something. That’s not the case for small towns. There are people living there who are not family to the majority of the locals. There are also people living in small towns who don’t have the same level of family ties as people in other places.
This is a problem we see in many different small towns, cities, and even big cities. Because many of these people have moved into their new home within the last two years, they lack all the emotional ties that made them feel connected to their old homes. Because of this, these people are often isolated from their old neighborhood and friends. This creates a lot of isolation-related problems.
In fallbrook, a community of over 20,000 people, residents are connected to each other through the local church, library, and elementary schools. People who don’t live in close proximity (less than 50 miles) to a church, library, or elementary school are often forced to live in a small village that might as well be in the middle of the woods. Many people in small towns are so isolated from their neighbors that they can’t really connect with the rest of the community.
I’m not sure that there is a solution to that problem but I will say that there are a lot of things that people do to create their own little village. I read an article this morning about how people live in their own little bubbles and how that can be a very isolating experience.
This is the real issue in the story…
I don’t know whether a village would work in the real world, but that is the idea behind the game. We don’t have to worry about the big bad outside our little bubble. We can keep our own company and create our own little village.
Well, you’re definitely right, that is definitely the real problem. We have our own little bubble that we don’t even realize.
