6 Tips to Spruce Up Your Office Desk

Many of us spend a good part of our days working at a desk, be it at home or in the office. Working all day can be tiresome and boring, but you can make it fun by finding creative ways to make your workspace feel more personal.

Your workspace should inspire you creatively and motivate you to do your best. One way of doing that is by decorating your desk.

Having a nice fun desk will make you feel significantly positive throughout your day. However, it is not easy to have a full-on makeover for your working space but you can employ a few easy ways to make your desk feel fun and creative.

1. An Indoor Plant

A plant on your desk brings life to your workspace. It is important that you go for a plant that does not require so much care that it interrupts your work schedule. You can choose to buy a succulent as they do not require constant watering.

2. A Table Lamp

A small table lamp with a softer bulb than the office lighting can make your space feel cozier. There are plenty of table lamps in various styles and designs, so feel free to go with whatever you find preferable.

3. A Piece of Art

Art is symbolic and can give a message of inspiration that could lift your spirits. If you are a person who enjoys the diversity and the deep meaning of art, you can find one that is symbolic and inspires the creativity within you.

4. A Family Picture

Nothing warms the heart more than seeing the faces of your loved ones. You can frame one of the pictures of your family and put it on your desk. Seeing their faces every time you look up from your computer will inspire you to continue working with zeal.

5. Custom Desk Name Plates

Nothing adds a personal touch to a desk more than desk name plates. You can customize your nameplate in a simple or fancy way with your name, credentials, and a quote that inspires you.

They are also portable in that you can simply move them in case your workspace changes.

6. Fun Magnet and Push Pins

Having little notes pinned on your cubicle’s wall reminds you of things to prioritize as you work and can go a long way in helping you generate fresh ideas as you work. You can add more life to the wall by using decorative magnets and pins instead of regular pins for your notes.

A Motivated Working Environment Makes It Bearable

Decorating your workspace and adding life to your desk may not make your work easier. However, seeing things you love and enjoy around you will make it a lot more bearable.

Everyone works differently based on their work environment. Therefore, everyone should decorate and customize their workspaces in ways that suit their personalities.

Hopefully, the tips highlighted above will ensure that you feel inspired and motivated enough to consider your work as a second home.
