Do you know the mayor of lannach?

If not, then it’s time to catch up on your Irish history.Lannach is a small village fifteen minutes away from Dublin City.

The mayor of lannach  was a simple affair of a man with a surname who had the power to make decisions for his village without consulting anyone else.

In fact, he was elected by all the people in the town and did not have to live there either. He only served for one year and then would be replaced by another who would serve for one year before the cycle continued again.

The only way the mayor could be removed was through a vote of no confidence in him. Then he would have to leave his position for good.

This means that in effect these services are free in the country. There are, however, downsides to this system.

There are very few ambulances available at any given time because there is no money being invested in them, which can be a problem for rural areas.

Also, the government has not been able to get the rural fire service to work at its highest capacity because of funding issues.

So it is possible that you will never need these services if you live in an urban area but if you do live in a rural area, you could face serious problems trying to find one of these two important public services.

The problem with this system is that it allows people to vote for whoever they like but also makes it impossible for that person to be removed from office once they are elected.

If there were no election, then the government could put forward their own candidate but people who disagree with this choice would not be able to remove him/her from power by voting against them.

About the mayor of Lannach :

1.The mayor is elected by all the people :

And he did not have to live there either.

2.The only way the mayor could be removed :

Is through a vote of no confidence in him. Then he would have to leave his position for good.

3.The mayor is not accountable to anyone :

Because he is elected by all the people.

4.The mayor should be able to make decisions for his or her village without consulting anyone else :

Because the whole town would vote for him or her.

5.The mayor can be removed from power by a vote of no confidence in him :

Because he is only elected by the people and not accountable to any one.

And if there were no election then the government could put forward their own candidate but people who disagree with this choice would not be able to remove him/her from power by voting against them.

6.The mayor is elected for one year :

And will be replaced by another who would serve for one year before the cycle continued again

So it is possible that you will never need these services if you live in an urban area but if you do live in a rural area, you could face serious problems trying to find one of these two important public services.

7.The mayor’s salary is equal to that of an ordinary worker :

He is not accountable to anyone. He can be removed from power by a vote of no confidence in him.

But if there were no election then the government could put forward their own candidate but people who disagree with this choice would not be able to remove him/her from power by voting against them.

And the mayor’s salary is equal to that of an ordinary worker and he does not have any special social benefits, privileges or allowances compared with other employees in his locality.

8.The mayor is not accountable to anyone :

Because he was elected by all the people and he did not have to live there.

9.The mayor of lannach :

An example of an Irish government outside of Dublin City .The mayor is elected by all the people and he did not have to live there either.

And the only way the mayor could be removed is through a vote of no confidence in him. Then he would have to leave his position for good.

The only main difference between the mayor of lannach and that of lannach is that in lannach it has created more problems than it has solved.
