Five Explanations On Why Physical Fitness In Living Environment Is Important

The way people currently live, it contributes to a decline in their overall health. It is noted that physical fitness in a living environment is important because it helps people stay active and healthy. This leads to better quality of life, which in turn leads to lower health care costs. Moreover, if you live a physically fit lifestyle then there are many other benefits such as an increase in mental productivity and better work performance. When people engage with physical activities regularly they also experience more happiness.

Hence, physical activity leads to increased emotional well-being which ultimately increases happiness levels via positive emotional contagion effects. Your living environment, whether urban or rural, can affect your level of physical fitness. It includes three explanations that are centered around mental and cognitive, focusing on the outcomes of being physically fit and healthy. Finally, it contains an explanation that talks about the importance of physical activity, where it has been shown to improve mood, concentration and social interactions in those who have limited or no contact with others outside their homes.

Five Explanation On Why Physical Fitness In Living Environment Is Important :

1. Your mental and cognitive health depends on the degree of physical fitness.

For instance, when people have a high level of physical fitness, their chances of suffering from brain diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease are lower. It is also observed that higher levels of physical fitness are associated with higher cognitive functioning. These findings suggest that high levels of physical activity may prevent age-related declines in memory and other cognitive functions by reducing the risk for vascular and metabolic disorders that affect the brain.

In a Swedish study researchers from Karolinska Institutet have now investigated how the risk for dementia is affected by lifestyle factors such as smoking habits, education, hearing loss, low back pain, social activities and cognitive engagement. The results show that the risk for dementia is lower in people who participate in late-life cognitive engagement and social activities, even after adjusting for factors such as age, education, hearing loss and smoking habits.

2. Participating in outdoor activities can be good for your health.

People who keep physically fit with outdoor activities have better mental health than those who do not. For example, people who are physically active experience reduced symptoms of depression and anxiety, which make them feel better overall. Exercise also improves self-esteem and it increases energy levels which keeps you more motivated to complete daily tasks. Furthermore, regular exercise leads to a reduction in stress hormones helping you sleep better at night, when lack of sleep can contribute to increased irritability and symptoms of depression.

3. It also helps people with low socialization to develop friendships.

Studies have found that adults who do not have their own friends or family members may be more likely to develop depression and anxiety compared to those who are very close with other people. Being physically active in the form of dancing, running or skiing is considered a good way to build social relationships and friendships. Physical activity can help people maintain their health status, thereby reducing their risk for heart disease, diabetes and stroke. Physical activity can also contribute to social integration by assisting older adults in maintaining physical fitness, which can positively affect the quality of life.

4. It increases your chances of getting better health.

Physical activity is associated with a reduced risk of many chronic diseases that may occur later in adulthood. For example, a review of more than 200 studies found that physical activity helped people to maintain their health and delay the onset of chronic diseases such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Physical activity also helps to prevent mild to moderate depression and can help older adults manage depressive symptoms more effectively. Similarly, studies have shown that physical activity helps to prevent self-reported disability due to arthritis. Older adults who participate in regular physical activity may reduce their risk of death by up to 40% compared with those who are not physically active.

5. Physical activity can improve your mood and quality of life.

The way that physical activity affects mental health depends on the nature of the exercise, how often it’s done, as well as individual attributes. For example, some people who do not find pleasure in physical activity have a tendency to get depressed or become anxious.

On the contrary, other individuals are significantly more likely to experience a significant improvement in their mood when they participate in physical activity. Take walking for example; it is one of the most natural and inexpensive ways to boost mood and persistence levels. People who are good at walking are usually impolite people because they don’t give up easily under any circumstance.
