IP address lookup: How to find out the IP address of a website

An IP address is a unique identifier for a device on a network. It is used to route traffic to the correct device. We need to look up an IP address to find a device’s location on the network.

To find the IP address, we can easily use some simple steps. Every device on your network has one or more associated internet protocol (IP) addresses to communicate with other devices to work together correctly; this includes Google’s 172-217 range! IP address lookup helps in getting the location of the IP address from top IP address databases.

How to find the IP Address of a website or domain

If you want to do an IP address lookup of a website manually, first you must have the IP address of that website. To do so, there are a few demands that you can do to find the IP address of any website server:

1.) Use “ping” in Windows Command Prompt and type away;

2.) Type ‘nslookup’ into that sweet command window on your computer or laptop (yes, we know it’s not just for looking up things);

1. “Ping” Command for IP Address

You can find the IP address of any website by going to a command prompt and typing: ping whateverwebsite.com

NordVPN

See below for an example of the output you should expect to see. The first line is the most important – it will tell you the IP address of the website you pinged.

Pinging nordvpn.com at 172.104.238.60:

Reply from 172.104.238.60, time=247ms

Ping statistics for 172.104.238.60:

Packets:Sent = 1, Received = 1, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

Approximate round trip times in milliseconds:

Minimum = 247ms, Maximum = 247ms, Average = 247ms

As you can see, by using the ping command, you can quickly get the IP address of any website. This can be especially useful if you’re trying to set up a VPN or want to know the IP address for some other reason.

Keep in mind that the IP address you get from pinging a website may not always be accurate, as some websites use multiple IP addresses or have their DNS records set up so that pinging them doesn’t return the correct IP address. However, in most cases, pinging a website will give you a pretty good idea of its IP address.

2. Nslookup command for IP address

The nslookup command can use for IP address lookup for a website and other DNS information. To use the nslookup command, open a command prompt and type “nslookup <website>”. This will give you the IP address for the website and other DNS information. You can also use the nslookup command to troubleshoot DNS problems. For example, if you are having trouble connecting to a website, you can use the nslookup command to check the IP address for that website. If the IP address is incorrect, you can update your DNS settings.
