I have been with the Murphy NC News for about 2 years. I am a native of Murphy and currently live in the Murphy/North Carolina area.

Murphy is a city in northern NC. It is also the home of Murphy NC News and MurphyNCNews.com and its sister pages. In addition to the Murphy NC News website, Murphy NC News also publishes several other blogs. I also host the Murphy NC News Facebook page and the Murphy NC News Twitter feed. I also run the Murphy NC News blog. I also spend a lot of time doing community outreach.

Murphy was founded in 1845 by a group of farmers who wanted to create a prosperous and self-sufficient community in the heart of rural North Carolina. The group was known as the Murphy Brotherhood, after a local boy who was killed while trying to steal corn. They named the town after the boy’s father.
