Pure Summer Fun with School-Away Programs

The summer has gone by so fast and we have not had enough time to enjoy it. When school is out in July and August, it’s easy to get caught up in getting jobs and doing chores around the house.

Some kids will be starting school in just a couple weeks: ( For families with older children, summer may feel like it’s slipping away before you get to do everything you wanted to do. But don’t despair! While the next few weeks can sometimes seem so hard to get through, there are still plenty of things you can do with your kids this summer if they don’t have to go back to school right away.

That can leave us with too little time to take walks with your dog or meet up with friends for a morning coffee catch-up. Here at https://ilventofailsuogiro.com/ has some information about pro summer fun with school away programs.

Summer school-away activities offer the perfect opportunity to spend time with your family and friends, but they don’t have to take up all of your free time!

As summertime approaches, many of us are looking forward to traveling somewhere new or spending time with friends and family. But the reality of taking the kids out of school can be daunting.

Thankfully, there are plenty of options for keeping your children occupied and entertained, including these summer programs:

Mickey’s Music Adventure

There’s a reason Mickey Mouse has been entertaining children for over 75 years; he knows how to make learning fun! This interactive program allows kids ages 4-10 to explore different music genres and develop their own musical styles. Registration opens in April, but if you sign up soon you can reserve a spot as low as $399 (including travel).

Big Ideas for Kids

This year, Big Ideas is offering the most innovative and interactive classes ever. In one class, kids can learn about hummingbirds from a professional naturalist or in another they can explore their inner artist.

Zoo Camp

Zoo Camp is a full day program that takes place at the Cincinnati Zoo. The camp begins with a morning session at the Zoo’s Education Center and ends with lunch in a specially reserved area of the zoo for campers aged 6-12 years old. Sessions are ongoing from June through August and they include crafts, games, activities and time to explore the Zoo.

Buddy the Dragon

Buddy is a friendly dragon who lives in an Imagination Library. He’s been helping kids build their imaginations for over 25 years and his mission is to give children things that inspire creativity and wonder. Buddy can be seen at your library or local bookstore.

Aeromotive

Enjoy free, one-on-one instruction from an Aeromotive engineer for a day at your library or local aviation facility. Registration opens in April, but spots are limited so call the Aeromotive team at 669-5397 to check availability before they fill up!

County Parks & the Cincinnati Zoo

Pack up your picnic basket and spend the day at one of our beautiful parks. There are programs for all ages, including arts and crafts, fishing, outdoor cooking and more! Just call ahead to make reservations.

Hands-On House

Kids will love spending time with Mary, Dick or Larry at the Hands-on House every Monday through Friday from 9-3pm. They can do fun projects, play games and learn how to be more independent. Just pick up an application at your local branch library or by calling the Hands-on House directly at 513-281-4080 or e-mailing them at hoho@cincinnatilibrary.org. In fact, summer school-away programs can provide a fun and creative way to spend your summer. Here is a short list of things you can do to make it a memorable one:

  • Get involved in after-school activities.

Activities will be plentiful during the summer because teachers need to focus on vacation planning. Talk to your children’s teachers about summer programs you might all enjoy. A public library that offers a variety of reading clubs is a good place for kids. If you want a little more structure in your life, try an arts program or an academic camp.

  • Share an experience.

You don’t have to be a family of four to go on a family vacation. In fact, families often find it more fun when they can take advantage of long weekends and spend time together without everyone crowding into the same big hotel room. Contact hotels or rental agencies directly to ask about deals or special deals for families going on trips together. If you feel you have enough money saved up for a vacation, consider volunteering your time at a food bank, a children’s museum or an animal shelter in the area.

  • Be creative with your family time.

You don’t have to go on a vacation to spend quality time with your family. Involving the whole family in a fun summer school-away activity is a great way to spend your summer. If you are all learning something new together, you’ll have the chance to work on your skills while enjoying each other’s company.

The most amazing person you will ever meet. I am the internet's original narcissist, and I'm not afraid to say it! My life is one big globetrotting adventure that only ends when death takes me away from all this beauty - which could be sooner rather than later if my health doesn't improve soon enough ( hospital visits are expensive ). But until then: onward into unknown territory...
