spinal column news

In recent years, researchers have been able to track the motion of the spinal column, the backbone connecting the vertebrae of the spinal cord, by placing a series of sensors, known as motion sensors, on the spine. By following the data generated by these sensors, scientists have been able to calculate the “joint trajectories” of each vertebra along the spine.

While it’s important to note that the spinal motion sensors can only determine the position of a single vertebra, they do help researchers to see the entire spine in detail. They do, however, limit the types of data that can be collected, so it’s best to use data from just a few joints.
