The lyrics are: The music director of the movie, Chakravarthy, composed the song based on this theme. It is also said that from this song onwards, Raghavendra Rao started directing movies with more universal appeal.

Meaning of the song:

The meaning of antariksham naa songs is “above the sky”.

This word was probably used because the people believed that stars were different from planets. The word does not refer to planets or stars in general.

It refers to a star (Venus) which can be seen only with a telescope.

Venus appears very bright in the sky and it is visible even during the day time in some parts of India, because sunlight is reflecting off its surface.

Happiness:

If we want to be happy then we should love ourselves, the way God loved us. The song tells about the power of self-esteem. It was sung by P. Susheela and composed by Chakravarthy. The song was picturised on Sridevi who sang it after some persuasion from Raghavendra Rao, because Chakravarthy wanted to play it safe. The lyrics are: The meaning of this part is that all human beings have a natural tendency to think they deserve respect, because they are treated as special and unique in their own way by God.

What is the purpose of the song?

The purpose of the song is that the heroines are not special, unique or regular. They are all the same: a girl (main heroine) who is growing up and also all girls. The lyrics tell us that “whatever you do… don’t forget you’re special, unique and beautiful!” This song was liked by all age groups. It was successful in giving an emotional impact to the characters of the movie. Also it made a huge hit at the box office. The female audience especially liked the song and appreciated Sridevi’s singing.

Dr. Rajiv Sarup, a film critic of “The Hindu” wrote in his review of the film that: “the lyrics are really good and they have a universal appeal”. He opined that the song “aims at making everyone realise that they are special and should treat themselves with respect”. He also mentions that this song is very different from all other songs in the movie as it is based on love for oneself, self-respect and self-esteem.  Rajiv Sarup wrote: “Sridevi has sung this song beautifully and she has shown how much she cares for herself.
