Think Your Job Is Safe? 9 Ways You Can Lose It Today

Have you ever felt like your job was secure and you would never lose it? It’s easier to believe as employees are protected by employment laws, such as the Working Time Regulations 2004, and employers can be held responsible for unfair dismissal. However, just because a company says it will protect its employees does not mean that staff members like heidi wyrick interview won’t be made redundant when business is down or the firm changes its strategy. The following article will explore nine ways in which staff members could lose their jobs without the employer being compelled to make any follow up or payments to those who have been made redundant.

9 mistakes which can make you lose your job are:

1. Not wearing your uniform properly in the workplace.

If you’re told to wear more than one set of uniforms, be sure to follow the instructions regarding when you should wear which type of uniform. Take care not to disrupt business processes by wearing non-specified uniforms or wearing more layers than are specified by the employer, which could lead to disciplinary action and potential loss of employment.

2. Wear your company name.

Not wearing your company name in a visible manner on the outside of your clothing, for example around your shoulder or on the breast pocket. This will enable staff members who are new to a company or a new department to be identified as belonging to that employer or that department at all times.

3. Disrespectful behavior.

Depending on the size of the company and type of business, a lack of respect for senior managers can mean staff members can find themselves out of a job. If you find yourself in this situation and demonstrate this kind of behavior to others, you may want to review your behavior pattern before any action is taken against you.

4. Blocking a way.

If employees are instructed not to take up or use certain paths or areas in the workplace, they should ensure that they are not obstructing business processes by blocking them or making it difficult for other staff members to work around them.

5. Refusal to do something.

If employees are told not to do something, they are required to follow any instructions given by the employer as well as ensure they do not cause disruption to the workplace and that their workmates can continue with their work.

6. Inappropriate communication with individuals or groups outside of work.

Inappropriate contact with individuals or groups outside of the workplace, for example via email or text message, could lead to a reminder being sent home if disciplinary action is taken against staff members for communicating inappropriately with other individuals outside of the workplace when working hours are over. It is also possible for staff members who have been involved in such incidents as well disciplinary action may be taken against them by their employers.

7. Refusing to appear in a disciplinary panel.

If you find yourself up in front of a disciplinary panel which has been convened as a result of an incident, it is recommended that you not avoid the meeting or any sentence given to you by making excuses. If staff members are not willing to appear in a disciplinary hearing, they could lose their job as the hearing can be compulsory. Staff members who fail to show up will also be marked down in their performance reports and this could lead to further disciplinary action against them.

8. Refusal to agree terms of employment or salary increase or bonus.

Staff members are required to agree to all terms of employment, which may include a salary increase or bonus. If staff members can reasonably predict that they will experience a reduction in income, they should make informal contact with their employer to discuss the issue as soon as possible. Depending on the situation, staff members may be entitled to less money under their final pay and end of service payment.

9. Refusing overtime.

If staff members are not able to work a full shift or are required to work overtime, they should keep their employers informed about any other commitments, for example an important engagement which is on the same day and when this is the case. If staff members are given overtime work during working hours they should notify their employers as soon as possible so that the overtime work is completed and that they do not miss any essential working hours due to this additional work being done at home or out-of-hours.

Conclusion:

If you are one of the people who would like to leave their jobs, remember that it is not easy to search for a new job, so think about it before you quit. However, if you really want to quit your job because of any reasons, don’t keep it if you don’t like it anymore. Just relax and make a plan before quitting.

If you are worrying about how to get a new job before leaving your current company, first identify the job market that you want to enter. Then start searching for opportunities on the internet and make sure they are interesting and will suit your character in order to be more confident during interviews.
