Marvel’s Eternals is one of the studio’s latest films that has caused mixed reactions from critics and audiences alike. While it has been deemed one of the best movies Marvel Studios has ever released, it’s not exactly a hit with fans. Many people have claimed that Eternals was snubbed by Marvel Studios when they failed to submit it for Best VFX Academy Award nominations this year.
“Eternals was a great film that was unfairly ignored by the Academy Awards this year,” an Eternals fan said. “I know it’s not fair to compare Eternals to previous MCU releases, but in my opinion, this one is right up there with Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel’s visual effects.”
Eternals focuses on one of the mighty, powerful, and ancient races, called Eternals, who came to Earth 5,000 years ago to battle with The Deviants.
The film is based on an actual Marvel Comics in 1976 and the said comic book was created by Jack Kirby
who was a legendary comic book writer and co-created Captain America with Joe Simon. Also, he co-created most of the famous Marvel characters including The X-Men.
While Captain Marvel is part of MCU’s Phase 3 before Avengers: Endgame hits theaters. One of the most controversial characters to debut at Marvel Films was the character of Ayesha – first played by Angelina Jolie in 2003 and then Ayesha who will be played opposite Matt Damon in 2020.
Ayesha is a member of a race known as Eternals that comes to Earth thousands of years ago to battle with The Deviants.
Marvel is currently promoting the upcoming release of Captain Marvel in March but it has recently come to light that the studio is also working on developing a movie about The Eternals.
According to Movie Web, “the Eternals are an ancient race of superpowered immortals who were created by the cosmic entities known as “The Celestials”. It has been revealed that Marvel Studios will use the same technique for their upcoming project about The Eternals as they did for Captain Marvel‘s movie. In Filipino terms, the studio is “recycling” the VFX team.
It has been previously reported that Marvel Studios is currently filming an Eternals movie. According to Movie Web, Ayesha will be a part of the upcoming Marvel project which still lacks a director and a cast. However, it has been announced that Angelina Jolie, who previously played the character back in 2003 and will take on the role once again in 2020, will be reprising her role as Ayesha.
It is still too early to predict how well Marvel’s Eternals will do at the box office but one thing is for sure: moviegoers will be seeing more of The Eternals in the future.
Why The “Marvel Eternals” was ignored by the Academy Awards this year?
Despite the fact that Marvel’s “Eternals” is considered to be one of the MCU’s best films, it has been criticized for being snubbed by the Academy Awards this year.
It will still be interesting to see how Eternals will venture into the box office. According to Box Office Mojo, “Marvel Studios has already released several films at the box office before, and they have also received numerous accolades including five nominations and two wins (with theatrical VFX honors) from the Visual Effects Society.
A lot of things have been said about Marvel’s upcoming film Eternals and the cast and now, it has become one of the most controversial movies.
The movie stars Kumail Nanjiani who plays Kingo in the movie. During an interview with Happy Sad Confused Podcast, Nanjiani revealed that he is a part of Eternals, which received mixed reactions from critics as well as fans.
“I’m in Marvel’s Eternals,” Nanjiani stated.
Kumail Nanjiani and Marvel’s Eternals hasn’t yet been released but the movie has already received mixed reviews from viewers and critics. Some people gave Eternals a thumbs up, some gave it a thumbs down and some simply just shrugged their shoulders, as if to say “who knows”.
