Shrek5 Is an American Movie franchise made by DreamWorks Animation. The films tell the story of an anthropomorphic ogre who, with his friends Donkey and Puss in Boots, goes to save a princess from the love-sick King Harold. Three films later, Shrek is at it again. And with the fourth film set for release on May 21st, 2019, what gives? Will there be more? The original Shrek grossed over $484 million worldwide in 2001.  

The characters have grown so popular that some of the stars have appeared in another DreamWorks film. Mike Myers’ recent appearance as a cameo character in How to Train Your Dragon 2 has generated a lot of buzz on social media.

Mike Myers is the voice of Shrek, Eddie Murphy is the voice of Donkey, Cameron Diaz is the voice of Fiona, Antonio Banderas is the voice of Puss in Boots and Justin Timberlake will join them for the first time as he’s gonna be The Prince.

What’s The Plotting On “Shrek 5”?

According to DreamWorks Animation’s chief creative officer Bill Damaschke, there seems to be serious talk of making a franchise movie. He then followed up that it would be Shrek 5, meaning that it’s the final movie in this franchise. But we’re not sure if it’s really gonna end with just one more film as there is a huge possibility that another sequel could rise up and come out in near future.

On the other hand, we know that Shrek will go on his final journey. And it all happens when he has been recruited by his daughter who wants to find him the perfect family. It’s hard to get a full picture of this world without reading reviews. It’s not a perfect world we’re living in, and much like anything else, the film has its flaws. When we look at the Rotten Tomatoes reviews for Shrek 2 it has a 60% approval rating while Shrek 3 has 38%. But there is no doubt that the franchise is a major hit with $2.8 billion worldwide box office receipts and an Oscar for Best Animated Feature for its first installment.
