About Netcraft

Netcraft is a web company that provides infrastructure-related services under the direction of Jim Cowie. It was started in 2000 as a business that uses its own technology platform for global infrastructure monitoring/security/and application performance monitoring services. 

The software platform it uses runs on all major operating systems and has been deployed by companies around the world including Cisco, Microsoft, Intel, Netflix, Apple and Google. Netcraft software was used to discover the recent Heartbleed vulnerability affecting OpenSSL.

1.Open-Source Software from SUSE.

SUSE Linux, a German company, produces a variety of open-source software for Linux and other platforms. It also sells a commercial enterprise branch based on the open source code, called SUSE Enterprise Linux. 

SUSE is a member of the Software Freedom Conservancy and has been certified as being compliant with the FSF’s Free Software Guidelines. In 2011, Linux Magazine named SUSE as the fourth largest vendor of Linux distributions. In May 2012, Novell acquired SUSE.

2.Linux Journal.

Linux Journal was founded in February 1996, and since then it has grown into one of the largest Linux-related magazines in the world. Each issue of Linux Journal contains enough content to fill one or two books, with over 1000 pages in each issue. The magazine is published four times a year, once in May, August, November and February. It features articles on every aspect of Linux (both open source and proprietary). 

3.Linux Magazine.

Linux is a popular operating system, and Linux Magazine is another popular publication in the English language for Linux. It was founded in January 1997 by Jeff Atwood, who is also the co-founder of Stack Exchange. 

The magazine offers in-depth coverage of topics such as hardware, software and apps that run on Linux. The magazine features contributions from some of the most prominent members of the open source community including Greg Kroah-Hartman, Linus Torvalds himself, along with contributors such as Aaron Swartz and Søren Pind.

4.Linux Weekly News.

Linux Weekly News is a UK based magazine that covers Linux. It was founded in October 2000 by Stephen O’Grady, who is now the editor-in-chief. The magazine comes out weekly and typically includes around 30 articles on various topics. 

The magazine covers topics such as Linux kernel development, hardware reviews, tutorials and interviews with industry leaders like Linus Torvalds.

5.Linux World

Linux World covers Linux, open source, and open standards. It has been published since October 1997 and is owned by InfoWorld Media Group. 

The magazine features interviews with notable figures in the industry, covering topics such as Open Source and proprietary software as well as issues concerning free software and open standards such as the OpenDocument format.

6.Linux Weekly News (Australia & New Zealand).

Linux Weekly News is a UK based magazine that covers Linux. It was founded in October 2000 and is owned by InfoWorld Media Group. The magazine comes out weekly and typically includes around 30 articles on various topics. The magazine covers topics such as Linux kernel development, hardware reviews, tutorials and interviews with industry leaders like Linus Torvalds.

7.Linux Journal (Italy)

8.Linux Journal (Spain)

Linux Journal is a Spanish language magazine that features articles on Linux and other operating systems. It has been published by Ediciones LinuxPlanet since 2002. An English language version of the magazine was published from 2004 to 2010. 

Between 2012 and 2014 a French version called Linux Magazine was also published by Edipresse S.A.. 

In 2015 it was acquired by Editora Del Puerto which relaunched Linux Journal with a monthly frequency as a print magazine with PDF-only digital issues via email subscription.

9.Linux Magazine Brazilian Edition

10.Linux Pro Magazine

Linux Pro Magazine is an English-language magazine covering news about the Linux operating system. It was founded in August 2003 by Jon “maddog” Hall, who has held editorial control since its inception. Linux Pro Magazine includes articles written by Jon “maddog” Hall, Jon Corbett, Jason Perlow, Jim Lynch, CJ Kale and others. The editor-in-chief is Chris DiBona.
