Eso trifling glyph of health is a new system in ESO that will allow players who spend real money to buy game time instead of using their own time.
What did Game Director Matt Firor say about it?
“We will offer this as a convenience option for our most committed players, not because we don’t value all our subscribers and want everyone to help fund development.” With the upcoming expansion, more players than ever before could get involved with ESO without spending hundreds of dollars. This would be a huge improvement in the game’s economy, and would help smaller guilds find new members easily.
In addition to real money purchases for game time, there will be ESO Trifling Glyph of Health items that can be purchased with in-game gold extracted from time-gated events, for example the new Timewalking dungeons. These items allow players to use the same gold from these events to buy particular amounts of game time. There will also be a temporary free glyph available which will allow players to purchase a month’s worth of game time at once.
Why would I want to use one?
“If you don’t have the money or don’t care about it, you could skip ESO Trifling Glyphs completely. They’re an easy way to test the expansion, or just a convenient way to play. We’ve heard from some players that they’d like to try the game but don’t have hundreds of dollars to spend. We’ve also seen that free players work hard, do their fair share and want to keep playing their character just as much as everyone else. Giving them a way to help fund the development of the game and continue playing is in everyone’s best interest.”
Why would I buy an eso trifling glyph?
A glyph can be redeemed against any amount of time that is equal or less than 30 days (for example, 30 days for 90 days). Each Glyph represents 1 month of game time, even if you are only purchasing one month. This means that you could gain a new character with all of the benefits of Dragon Bones, and use that character for a month. You can purchase more than one glyph at a time, but only one per account (so if you buy two, each will last for 30 days).
What do I get in exchange?
You receive the following items in exchange for purchasing game time. 5-10% XP boost during Timewalking dungeons (up to 5 times) [temporary]. We’re not going to be offering any more rewards like this in the near future. These boosts come in a single stackable item that you can use at any time, and are not character specific. We’ll be adding crafting motifs to the store in the future, so if you’re a crafter who wants to get into PvP or PvE, they’ll be easy to find. The motif will be at its crafting station.
Sometimes we may offer special items like pets or mounts that are normally purchasable only with real money. They will appear in the store prominently and can only be purchased with gold that was extracted from time-gated content (such as the queues for this new dungeon). These items are still bound to your account and cannot be traded, but can be sold on guild stores.
