The creator stated in a new conversation while advertising the current Disney+Hotstar National Treasure mini-series, “We mentioned we’d want to do a second Living Legend and they(Disney) replied, ‘Sure, let’s came up with a brand-new cast. At the same time, we began working on National Treasure again for the big screen with Nicolas Cage, which is what we’re currently doing. So that was still continuing on.”

About the Upcoming Film
National Treasure enthusiasts have been anticipating the new Disney+ TV program National Treasure: Edge of Eternity, which has sparked curiosity not only regarding which characters first from films would participate in the project, but also concerning which Fictional characters might appear in a hypothetical National Treasure 3. Threshold of History actor Lisette Olivera claimed that she was unaware of any intentions for her protagonist to rejoin the cinematic universe, but showed excitement at the prospect, revealing she would be content to play a subordinate role to Nicolas Cage’s Benjamin Gates. On December 14th, Disney+ will debut National Treasure: Edge of History.
When questioned by ComicBook.com whether she was aware of intentions to include her Jess Valenzuela in National Treasure 3, Olivera said, “That is a matter again for designers. I’d be overjoyed if I was featured. I believe the original movies are just so great that getting to work with everyone who didn’t get to work with us on the series would be a big honor. Are you kidding me? It would be freakin’ awesome. We are currently able to link the countries in the miniseries, but having the opportunity to extend would indeed be fantastic.”
Considering that Cage’s Ben Gates having previously demonstrated his ability to solve the much more difficult riddles, Olivera expressed enthusiasm about putting the protagonists on the same big screen “Isn’t that exactly what I’m speaking? Consider what they might accomplish if they worked collectively. I would absolutely love to play Robin in Nic Cage’s Batman.”
Jess (Lisette Olivera), a clever and resilient DREAMer, goes on the journey of a lifetime to find the truth behind her family’s mysterious background and recover a hidden Pan-American artifact in the latest series.
Either Cage’s Gates appears on TV or Olivera’s Jess appears in the cinematic universe, showrunner Cormac Wibberley has already discussed the possibility of a connection between the two protagonists. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Wibberley contrasted the connection involving Cage’s Ben and Lisette Olivera’s Jess to that of Tony Stark and Peter Parker inside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, assuming Cage appears in Season 2.
“That’s essentially how we envisaged the connection if Ben Gates turned up,” Wibberley told the publication. “She’s practically Peter Parker to them, exclaiming, ‘Oh, my God, it’s Ben Gates!’ ‘Whatever ought to I do?’ That is the nature of our universe. If we are given another campaign, we should enjoy having any of the remaining veterans. We offer responsibilities for everyone.”
