If you’ve played through a few quests with mama murphy, you might have noticed her fancy chair that floats in the middle of the living room. She’s been seen leaving it, sitting in it, and even sleeping in it. So what kind of chair does she want?
It seems mama Murphy wants a rocking chair but doesn’t know how to get one herself. She would like some help.
What kind of chair does mama murphy want ?
1.Sleeping in a chair :
You can sleep in a chair for free, but you will have to find somewhere to set it up. If you’ve put the bed down in one of the rooms, you can sleep there and move the chair from room to room. If you choose this option and try again, Mama Murphy will frown and say “I was hoping for something new and comfy.”
2. Sleep in the chair while mama Murphy is away:
You can sleep in the chair while mama Murphy is away and she won’t mind. It seems that she simply won’t bother you, although you still have to move the chair . Please note that it’s not recommended to do this; it will reset your rank with Mama Murphy, and if you forget to move the chair back again to a bed, she will never talk to you again.
I would sweeten this deal by putting a mattress on top of the chair, so that both of you can sleep a bit more comfortably.
3. Let mama Murphy turn the chair into a bed:
It’s possible to just put the chair in the bedroom and mama Murphy will tell you that it’s fine to take a nap. She will then turn it into a bed. Note that this is mean, and I wouldn’t really recommend doing this; make sure you take the time to move your bed back before sleeping in it again.
4. Have mama Murphy make her own chair:
Once you’ve finished all of mama Murphy’s quests, if you talk to her she’ll tell you that she’ll “make herself comfortable.” After some time passes, she’ll ask if you’re ready for her chairs. Once you give her the materials, she’ll tell you that it takes time to make. It seems as if this will not become a usable chair right away; I would suggest waiting a few days before asking again to see if the chair is finished.
It seems that Mama Murphy wants to turn the chair into a bed, so if you haven’t made a bed yet and she has asked you to make one, she will ask you to make one of these. The materials needed are those used for making a bed, which are found in bedrooms under beds. Once the chair is done, it will say “It’s done! It’s ready for mama Murphy.”
5. Make your own chair :
You can make your own chair, but you’ll have to make yourself a wood chopping block first (for this you’ll need to find a “wood plank” and ax to chop it). Then, go to the workshop and put down the wood plank and then the chair. It’s possible for mama Murphy to say that she likes it if you’ve made it yourself.
6. Get a rocking chair for her:
You can find them for sale at any general store in the game; they are one of the first things that you’ll be able to get from a vendor.
7. Go to the workshop and get some materials:
You can find the missing materials in your bedroom under the bed (please note that you need to have a bed there first before mama Murphy says she wants a new one). Once you have all of the materials, go to mama Murphy and she will ask you to make a chair for her.
8. Buy the Materials and make the chair yourself :
You can buy the materials from any general store, but beware; the wood planks are only available after you’ve reached a certain level in-game (the cap level depends on your progression in the main story). Be sure to check vendor’s inventory before visiting them (you can do this by leaving workshop mode and going back into it).
9. Keep trying until it works:
This might seem weird, but what I’ve found is that mama Murphy sometimes expects you to get exactly 100 parts of each material. the workshop. Choose “Make a new item” and choose “Chair”.
8. Create a new chair:
Choose “Chair” and choose “Material”. Make sure you choose the right materials (sometimes you’re missing one or two); if you get a message saying that these materials are not available, it seems that you need to go find a general store where you can buy them.
