It’s a tough time to be an artist in Oregon, especially in the summertime, and while it is definitely not a bad thing to take your time to relax and enjoy the weather, artists should take extra care in their work. You can be in the studio for a week and still not get all the details right. I know I was a little concerned when I first found out about the new law that requires art businesses to post their hours of operation online.
I know it is a scary thing and can be frustrating at the same time, but there are a lot of ways to make sure your studio stays open when you don’t have your hours listed online. Not only can you monitor the hours of operation, but you can also call the studio and ask them to keep you on the line when you’re not working.
This law is already in effect in Oregon, and Woodburn is a studio that does not post their hours on their website or in the area map. If you dont want to be on the line, however, you could always take a self-check and call them at 561-6279.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t have an official hours posted online since it’s easy enough to check on your own. It all depends on how your studio operates. If you’re a hobbyist and don’t have a studio website, you could call the studio to keep you on the line. This is especially helpful if you work with other studios and want to collaborate on a project, because you can contact your fellow studio owners to keep you on the line.
This means you can always ask for help if you dont have any. This is one of the more difficult aspects of creating a new studio. It means you have to ask for help because if you dont seem to be able to work with others, there can be no way for you to hire someone to do the work. It also means that if you dont work with other studios, you will get a little annoyed because they dont have time for you, and you will get frustrated.
