One of my favorite quotes is: “If you want to know why the world is the way it is, look to the stars.” Well, when I say “look to the stars,” I mean to the moon. How else are we to know what we see? We can tell what is coming, but we can’t really predict what will happen. We are not on automatic pilot.
Yes, we are, but there’s a lot of people who don’t realize that. And even if we do, we can’t control the effects of our actions. The same is true of our news media. If you don’t know why something is happening, you won’t be able to do anything about it.
The problem is even if you do know why something is happening, you can’t control it. We know that a lot of news is wrong, but we cant change it. You can’t make a decision to stop buying newspapers if you dont know why it’s wrong. I think the biggest problem is that so many people don’t even realize they’re buying something because they see a headline that means something, but they don’t understand that headline.
A better way of saying this, is that the people who want to buy newspapers, are the people who don’t want to change the news.
The term “news” is really a misnomer, because news is the most obvious and simplest form of information. If there is no news, then there is no “news.” So instead of being like “Oh, there’s a new episode of Archer,” we need to talk about a specific episode, the episodes that are airing, or a specific season, the seasons that are airing.
This is why we need to be careful in writing headlines. If you are writing a news story, you need to be careful to not put yourself in the position of being the idiot who says “there was a fire on the news”. It is a very common, and important, thing to do.
The news people often forget that the internet is no longer the place where everyone is always looking for the latest news. We aren’t as quick to google our headlines, so we try to write them so that we can be part of the conversation. Like, if you know there was a fire at the news station and then you find out there was a fire at the department, that is a story you should write, not an article you are writing.
So what makes a news story? A news story is when someone gets killed, so you should write that someone was killed just because it is the most natural thing to do. If there was no fire, no one would care.
The point about news stories is that they take up the space where someone gets killed. That space isn’t there to be filled by the news. When a news story happens, it is that person’s story about him or her. When someone gets killed, there is no space for a person to be “conversing” about that story. We write stories to fill this space so that we can talk about it, but we don’t talk about it.
The same goes for news. It is the story that makes the death. That is the part that is important. We don’t just write stories about the news. We are just filling up the space where someone is killed.
