For the past few years, I have been a big fan of reading the news and the internet. I love how often stories are brought up on my blog. The most recent story I read was about how the islands of the Bahamas have been hit hard by extreme hurricanes and what that means for the islands’ tourism industry. What I do know is that the economic impact of a disaster isn’t just about dollars.
So why did the Bahamas get hit by hurricane Dorian? Its clear that the US government has been sending money to the island as part of the islanders’ bailout plan, but that money has been going to other countries and people in the US. This money is now going to the Bahamas, so with all the money now going to the Bahamas, I think it is safe to say that the storm was a blessing for the island in the long run.
Sure, the storm is going to be good for the Bahamas, but it is going to be more important to the US for a couple of reasons. The Bahamas is a major source of energy for the US. Not only do they produce oil, they also supply it to the US. They have the largest reserves of oil in the continental US, and if they ever need to run out, they don’t have to worry about running out of food because they can grow food on the island themselves.
A second important reason is the US military. According to a report by NPR, the US has about 100,000 troops on the island of Puerto Rico, which is just a few miles off the coast of the mainland. That’s a lot of troops, to say the least. A few years ago, the US military was planning to build a base on Puerto Rico that would have a fleet of ships that could move troops to remote locations around the island. Of course they never did it.
A report by CNN states the US military has moved hundreds of troops to Puerto Rico to help with hurricane recovery efforts. They are being deployed to the small island to help with the cleanup. It is believed that these troops will also serve as a “bridge” between the island and mainland.
The US military is still considering moving troops to Puerto Rico, but it won’t have a large fleet of ships. The most likely destination is a base they will be permanently stationed at or in the Caribbean island of Aruba. The base will be under the control of the military, and their primary mission will be to help the island recover from hurricane damage from the 2011 hurricane season.
Puerto Rico is in a state of emergency and the military are there to help. If you want to get involved with the island, you’re going to have to act in a certain way. Puerto Rican law does not recognize military bases, so to be considered an official member of the military you’ll have to take a leave of absence from your job. It also means you have to be a US military member, or some other official with a military connection.
I guess this is the part where I ask you, what the hell are you doing on an island? (Not that I think taking an official leave is a good idea, but I’d hate to think of you as a US military member and not even be able to get a job.) If you’re wondering why you’re even still on Deathloop, you could be the one who got the island into a state of emergency. It was one of the many reasons you killed your parents.
I suppose it is a bit of a shame that you didn’t even get the chance to learn your lesson. But that’s a whole other story.
It seems that youre one of the first ones who actually left the island and came back. As you can tell, the game features a lot of time-looping, so you will probably go back and do it more times than I do. I mean, you were on Deathloop for about a day and a half after you killed your parents, so I bet youve already figured out how to beat the game. I think that’s why you’ve been on the island so long.
