The mugshot of Champaign County resident, Matthew D. Johnson, the first African American elected to the Champaign County Board of Education. The mugshot was released this week, and it sparked a national debate about what the mugshot says about America’s second-largest school district.
Johnson’s photo was released by Champaign County Board of Education’s human resources department on March 20th. The mugshot was taken after Johnson was hired in the February 2010 school board election. Johnson, a first year teacher, was appointed to the post by Superintendent Jerry Zorinsky, who is also the superintendent of Champaign City Schools.
There was a lot of controversy when the mugshot was released. The story about the mugshot is a bit misleading, but I don’t think anything on the mugshot should be discussed. As with every story, it is a good source of information. In a story that is so many stories in one place, this story doesn’t really make any sense.
I really dont understand why this story is in the news. This could have been a great story, but it is not.

The mugshot of Keith Stromberg is a mugshot of a Champaign City Schools superintendent, and not Jerry Zorinsky. Jerry Zorinsky is the district’s chief financial officer, not its superintendent.
I don’t believe that the mugshot of Keith Stromberg is a story about Jerry Zorinsky. But you can’t have it both ways.
