We always wanted to buy a car that had a radio but we didn’t want to be bothered by commercials. We wanted to be the car people in the neighborhood heard on the radio. Well, not so much. We had a car that didn’t have a radio so we were always the one they listened to. And that’s how we got into the habit of not listening to our car radio.
I have a car that has a radio, but it has no speakers. I dont know if they have people that can play music on the radio, but I dont see a reason to buy a car that has no music. It just doesn’t seem like its the right time to be listening to music right now.
I hear you. This seems like an interesting way to get into car radio habit. But then I hear the next part, which is that a lot of car radios have speakers that can be controlled by voice commands, so it’s not like it’s just a car. And in reality, the car that has the speaker that I mentioned has a stereo that could be used to play music for the car. The speaker is in the radio that can be controlled by a voice command.
So Harv is saying we have the ability to control the “sensory experience” of our car, by listening to music. This is pretty cool.

I think there’s a little bit of a Catch-22 there too. The car with an amp could just as easily be an amp. If you’re listening, the amp, which is the speaker, could be made to play music. As long as the sound effects are not too distracting, you can make it a little more “real”. You could use the car as a speaker, too.

The thing is, as I’ve discussed in the previous chapter, it’s quite a bit harder to implement in a car audio system. The reason is that the receiver of a sound wave is located inside the speaker and therefore it is harder to make it sound as if it’s a car audio speaker. Its a bit more difficult to implement.
This is why the audiophile market is full of people who just love high-end car audio. People who love “sound fidelity” and the ability to recreate the sounds of their favorite car models. The only thing I think it is lacking is a bit of real-life experience, so that you can hear how good a car audio system sounds.
