Our friend and colleague, Danielle, sent us this email yesterday. We don’t have a lot of time to read her email, so we’ll just quote it: “My friend has been the victim of a heinous crime. I think it’s pretty obvious that she is very shaken by this ordeal.
The police department is a very small organization. Its not like a big city police department where the CEO has a big office. Its more like a local police department where the CEO only has a small office. There is no centralized investigation, no crime scene, no body camera, no body camera footage. Its basically the kind of office you might find in a small town in the US. Its a small office with very little to no technology, so its really hard for anyone to do anything about it.
That isn’t to say that the police aren’t concerned. They are always concerned about criminals and protecting their citizens.
That’s not to say the police aren’t corrupt but that they are also very much aware of what goes on in the world and how to deal with it. As a police chief, I would have no problem with any of my officers doing anything to protect my citizens (and those of my employees) if they get caught doing so. I have no issue with them arresting anyone who I deem is a threat to me.
