What is a trifling glyph of health?

Trifling glyph of health is an item in the game that can be used to heal a character. The benefit of trifling glyph over a potion is that it only costs one action point and one mana point. Trifling glyph can also be used to heal dog companions and other NPCs. Trifling glyphs have a limited number of charges – once they are depleted, they need to be recharged in order for them to work again.

The formula for calculating the amount of health restored by trifling glyph:

The amount of health restored by trifling glyph equals: ((max health + mana) * 0.5) + 1 = 1 (rounded down). Where: max health = the maximum health of the character. mana = the maximum mana of the character. So, if your max health is 50 and your mana is 100, then you would heal 1+1=2 HP with a trifling glyph. If you have 100 max health and 300 max mana, then you would heal 1+3=4 HP with a trifling glyph.

Use:

Trifling glyphs are found randomly in the world and can be purchased from the various vendors. A trifling glyph will not be used up if the character is revived. If your character is unconscious, you will have a 1% chance per action point of getting an action point back when you log off or revive. You do not get full HP back, just 1 action point, but doing this will allow you to heal yourself and possibly pay for another trifling glyph if you run out. Note that it takes time to heal (2-3 minutes) and should not be done while engaged in combat or questing/raiding/etc.

Features:

Trifling glyphs are a portable healing item, so it is possible to heal other characters, NPCs and your companions. Trifling glyphs can be used at any time (but not while in combat), regardless of whether the character has full health or not. They will not run out when the character dies, but will run out when the character is revived after death. Trifling glyphs are typically carried by healers, priests and priests of healing. There is a non-trifling glyph version of this item that functions as an action point booster for 1 hour for 20 AP per trifling glyph (note: uses up 1 potion instead of 1 action point).

Advantages:

– The cost of a trifling glyph is one action point, one mana point and a trifling glyph. They can be used freely.

– Trifling glyphs are obtained from vendors or found in the world. The quantity of resources needed to make them is equal to 1/10th the cost of that resource at the time it was made. For example: If an item typically costs 1000 gold to make, then you will need 100 gold and 100 other resources to make a trifling glyph. If it typically costs 1000 gold to make, then you will need 2 other resources to make a trifling glyph.

– Trifling glyphs cannot be used up if the character is revived from unconsciousness or death.

– The maximum amount of charges that can be stored by a trifling glyph is 100 charges (100 total). This means that if you have a trifling glyph with 50 charges and someone uses it for 50 HP which leaves it with 5 charges, the character will not be able to use the trifling glyph again until the character gets full health again (assuming you are still at full health). However, if you use the trifling glyph again before you are at full health, then that will use up the 5 remaining charges.

– The formula for healing with trifling glyphs is very simple (max health + max mana) * 0.5 + 1, but is subject to rounding. This means that if your max health and/or max mana are odd numbers, they will be rounded down when healing with a trifling glyph (ie. 25 max health and 40 max mana would heal 3 HP).

– Trifling glyphs can be used to heal your dog companion and other NPCs.

Disadvantages:

– Trifling glyphs will not be used up if the character is revived from unconsciousness or death. However, the trifling glyphs do need to be “charged” before you can use them again (1 minute) and after each use (1 minute cooldown). Thus, if you die and are revived with a trifling glyph, it will not be usable until at least 1:30 minutes have passed.

– Trifling glyphs are an item in your backpack that can be lost. They do not stack automatically when you pick up more than one trifling glyph.

– Trifling glyphs cannot be used to resurrect the dead.

If you die in PvP, then your trifling glyphs will become unavailable until you are resurrected by a non-PvP player.
