“What’s new at WLKM News?” was the question I was asked, and I didn’t really know what to say. My first thought was that I should probably start my own news show. My second thought was that I should probably get my own show on TLC that I call “The Real News”.
It was a bit of a shocker to finally hear that John Green was coming back to television, but he wasn’t exactly the first name that came to mind. John Green is a guy I grew up watching on The John Green Show, and for a time in the late ’80’s I spent a lot of time watching him on TV. I don’t watch TV, but I had a pretty good idea what he was talking about.
John Green (a.k.a. John Doe) was a guy who was a major star on The John Green Show, and who at one point was the host of the show. Well, anyway, he’s back on TV now, and I thought it would be a fun idea to give him a shout-out in this post.
Now I can add a bit of history to this. The John Green Show was actually a show on CBS in the early 80s. It was actually the show that got John Green his biggest exposure as an actor. It was very popular on the show, but it was not as popular as his other show, The Dick Van Dyke Show.
The Dick Van Dyke Show was a show on NBC, and was the show that Green starred in. Dick Van Dyke was a very successful actor, and the show was one of his major TV roles. Unfortunately, it was also his biggest flop, as it was cancelled after only one season, and Green just never seemed to recover from it.
wlkm is an online radio show hosted by John Green, who also directed the show. The show featured Green as a guest host, and his guests often included actors, musicians, and comedians. The show premiered in 1994 and was initially called The John Green Show. It was eventually changed to Green’s The John Green Show and then to wlkm in 1995. It aired on the Internet radio station wlkm in 1996.
The show was quite popular and it got really good ratings. Its first season was released on CD in 1998 and the first episode was made available for sale in 2000. It was re-released in both DVD and Blu-ray formats in 2004.
What are the similarities between wlkm and the internet radio station? In both cases, the hosts (Green, John, and Kevin) are trying to get things done, and they don’t like to use the internet to do it. The show is a bit more about the music, and a lot more about the people that it’s hosted by.
